SSH Client for Windows 10

Occasionally (very rarely but occasionally) I need to SSH into a web server. When I was on a Mac, I just used the SSH client built into macOS through Terminal.

On Windows, do I need a SSH client like Putty, or can I SSH into a web server using Command Prompt or PowerShell, or I also have the Bash/Linus Subsystem installed and was wondering if it includes an SSH client?

I’ve used MobaXterm quite a lot in the past, though don’t need to so much anymore – those people who I know who do require SSH access from Windows boxes rate it highly though.

Great! I’ll look into it. It’s rare I ever use it, but once in a blue moon I need it.

Bitvise SSH Client is an SSH client software that consists of two parts. First is the profile manager, which comes up after you click on the application icon. Profile manager is where you can configure the connection details (stuff like server host, port, authentication info).

I’ve tried recent putty and bit better version named kitty, both share same tunnel problem.

I found out that restarting firefox helped for some time, it can’t find proxy after several requests, but after restart it works again. This is strage, I’ll continue my research about that.

Also i got very strange DNS problem with windows 10, it could not load anything from my server for some time, pings were ok, but no response. Today I flushed DNS and it started to work, but I’m suspicious about those connections.

PuTTY is the go-to tool for external system access IME. I have never used or needed anything else – for command line access.

I used to use it at work – and it was an excellent piece of software, whether called putty, PuTTy or Putty

I love being connected in multiple terminal mode and typing commands to ALL servers in the same time. Copy & Paste is far better than putty as if you use putty copy ctrl +c during a bash script it will break it while moba term handle better mouse right click. Very good file manager like Win SCP.
Tabbed sessions. Cygwin plugins & tools. Some extensions and fully free
Also supports RDP/VNC/FTP/WEB/SFTP and lot more an admin swiss knife.
