Help! My Dell laptop running Windows 10 Home is stuck on 1909. I read and followed Susan’s guidance on Computerworld for various blocking issues. Conexant drivers are NOT on the PC. There’s plenty of room on my C: drive. The registry is NOT locked on 1909. All other available updates are installed. My .NET Framework is at Version 4.8. When I download and run SetupDiag.exe, the resulting file SetupDiag_[today’s date].log is empty. What could be preventing Microsoft from giving me 2004?

Have you set TVR to 2004 or 20H2 ?
On pro use GP to set TVR. On Home create a registry entry.

      See AKB 2000016

You can always use MCT to download and install Windows 10 20H2.
Make sure to create a full image backup of your PC to an external USB HDD drive and a bootable restore USB stick.

Thanks, Alex. TVR is not set. I think I’ll try the MCT route (after system imaging, of course 🙂 ).

The best method to update recalcitrant machines seems to be to download the update as an ISO / via MCT, then mount the ISO by double clicking on it and then running setup.exe from the new disk.

      cheers, Paul
