    Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right spot to post this but….

Trying to install CamStudio under Windows 8.1 update (64 bit). Seems to install fine, tried to start and received error

The program can’t start because mfc100.dll is missing form your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

I looked to see if mfc100.dll was on the computer. Reinstalled the Visual C++ runtime to ensure mfc100.dll was available. It is – C:windowssystm32

Still receive the same error… any suggestions would be appreciated. I’ve used CamStudio before (different comp. & operating system) and it worked well. Would like to continue to use, but am also open to other suggestions if this isn’t possible.

    Thanks

C:windowssystem32 is the 64-bit folder. If CamStudio is 32-bit you need to install the 32-bit runtimes. See Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86).

thanks…. had downloaded both the 32 bit and 64 bit runtimes… reran the runtime install and now things seem to be working… maybe didn’t register properly. Thanks. You made me look again and try reloading the runtimes.
