Hello. I have a file that appears on the desktops of the administrator and limited user accounts. I’m not sure how it got there. I have not been able to rename it or delete it. It appears on the Desktop as setupeng-2.exe. Properties information for the file: 1. type: application 2. Location: C: Documents & Settings All UsersDesktop 3. Size: 0 bytes, 4.Size on disk: 512 bytes 5. Custom MS-DOS initialization file 6. autoexec filename: % system root %System 32Autoexec.NT 7. Config Filename: % System Root % System 32 config.NT. I’m not sure what it is and if I could and/or should delete it. Please advise. Thank-you- Kim

It sounds like an aborted install file of some sort.

To delete it use the utility UNLOCKER mentioned in post 551,737 and other places in the Lounge.

This will work in 99% or more of the cases where files refuse to be deleted.

Thanks to Bob the Viking for the information. I’ll give it a try. Happy Thanksgiving. Kim

Bob the Viking: Thanks again. The unlocker program worked very well without any apparent adverse effects on my PC. Best Wishes, Kim
