Since upgrading my computer last month I decided to renew all my keyboard shortcuts and discover that I am unable to drag the “UnderlineColour” title either to a toolbar or to the “Format” tab. I am still using XP Office Proff. 2003. Any obvious reason why it will not drag? I don’t recall it refusing to export when following the directions originally. Thanks Dave.

AskWoody LoungerJanuary 13, 2010 at 8:38 pm #1198235The dialog box illustrated in your post is the one that’s used to assign shortcut keys to a command – in that dialog box, the only action you can take is to type in a new shortcut key combination.
If you want to drag a command to a toolbar, you should Cancel out of that dialog box to return to the Customize dialog – from there you should be able to drag the commands to a toolbar or menu.

AskWoody PlusJanuary 13, 2010 at 8:48 pm #1198236Hi Dave,
I’m a little confused as you seem to be accessing the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog in order to customize a toolbar. You need to be in the dialog box for customizing a toolbar.
Try this: Right-click on a toolbar or the menu. In the Customize dialog, make sure the Commands tab is displayed. On the left side, find the All Commands category. On the right, find the UnderlineColor command — then you should be able to drag the command to a toolbar or menu.
Is this what you were looking for?
Best, Kim

AskWoody LoungerJanuary 14, 2010 at 5:17 am #1198292Thanks a bunch Kim & Garry, that is exactly what I was wanting to do, obviously I had followed the said directions initially & got the desired tab that avoids using the mouse but (as the saying goes) a lot of water has gone under the bridge since then and so has – it seems – the data from the HD in my head. Sorry for confusing you, I tend to learn how to do things then because they are not something one does regularly, they fade from view. Yes, I usually write these tips down but this happens to be one I have not but will do now so I don’t need to ask again. Thanks again Dave.
