    Hi,

I have a rolling presentation with the date in the footer.
In order to get this to update I manually stop & restart the presentation
    each morning.
I realise I could use Scheduled Tasks to restart it for me but this isn’t
    the best solution.

I would prefer to get PowerPoint to update the date automatically from
    within the presentation.
    Is this possible?

Ideally I want the date & time in the footer (dd:mmm:yyyy hh:mm) with both
    being updated automatically.
Can this be done either in XP or 2000 versions?

    Thanks

    Colin

Have you tried opening the Slide Master and in the footer section, insert Date and Time and make sure you have selected the automatically update option or on a slide, go to Header and footer and select the slide tab and make sure the automatically update option is selected?

        Hi Hetty,

My presentation is already set up as you describe. This ‘feature’ displays the date/time when the presentation is started. It does not update automatically while it is running. Hence my original question.

I also sent the question to the Microsoft PowerPoint newsgroup & was directed to a free add-in that does exactly what I want. Its called AutoDateTime and is available at http://officerone.tripod.com. However, this slows my presentation to a crawl & so is unusable.

        Other ideas very welcome!

        Colin
