Hey guys,
I’m new and I’m not very familiar with most of the terms so please try to explain things as easily as possible.
Basically, I was updating my VLC player, but my entire computer froze during the update so I restarted it. Once my computer started up again I noticed that it was going very slow. I ran my spyware and antivirus scans and they both came up with nothing. I defragmented using smartdefrag 2, but that didn’t help either. I uninstalled VLC and redownloaded the newest version and it didn’t freeze this time, but my comp slowness has not recovered. When I try to play a movie the audio and video are choppy and distorted. I played a video on youtube to find the same occured. Everything is running slowly. I have read that VLC changes some things with the registry so I’m afraid something may have gone wrong when I restarted my computer during the first update. Please let me know if you need any scn shots or any more info.
I’m using
Asus U46SV Laptop
Windows 7 Home Premium
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz, 2401 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
NVIDIA Geforce GT 540MProcessor
Under task manager
Highest CPU usage is chrome with like 01 to 03
I also noticed on the Intel Turbo Boost Gadget, it shows 2.90+ GHz being used while idle? Is that normal?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you
