I am trying to get my tower computer running Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit to recognize a Radio Shack XLR to mini USB Microphone adapter. (This is a microphone preamp and analog-to-digital converter with USB digital audio output) This device was working but now it doesn’t and I can’t get it to work, I’ve tried it on several USB ports. When I connect the device to a different port, Windows indcates that it is installing the device but then the device doesn’t run. The device works fine on another computer (a netbook running Windows 7 Starter, 32-bit). I’m wondering whether there might be some conflict with the Realtek HD audio manager which also has (analog) microphone inputs, though I disbled those and the device still doesn’t run. How do I go about diagnosing and solving this problem? Here’s the error message in the Windows Action Center. Thanks for any help.
Windows was able to successfully install device driver software, but the driver software encountered a problem when it tried to run. The problem code is 10.
