    Is there a way to make a user defined function available to all open workbooks without defining it in each workbook? I.e . analogous to putting a macro in Personal.xls.

      If it’s in Personal .xls it can be accessed by all WB’s using the form =Personal.xls!myfunction(). If you turn it into an XLA or COM add in it can be used in the form =myfunction().
