Here is a brief overview on how to create and use Microsoft’s Media Creation Tool to update your system to Windows 10 or Windows 11. Depending on your system configuration and Microsoft’s stipulations, an upgrade may not be possible using this method.

    Make an image backup.

If you want windows 10, go to:

If you want Windows 11, go to:
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11

    a1

    Run downloaded mediacreationtool.exe

    a2

Make sure a USB flash drive is blank and use it to create your installation flash drive.

When the installation flash drive completes, run Setup.exe from the flash drive.

These next steps may not be quite in order, but this is the information.

The step which may provide difficulty is “Making sure you’re ready to install” which may or may not accept your system.
