Has anyone else experienced the following problems with the new Version 2004 update:

    1. Outlook 2010 Send/Receive function does not work and pop up message states “Not Implemented.” None of the online fixes worked.
    2. On the Outlook 2010 File tab, two messages appear in red:

    “Upgrade in Progress”

“Your mailbox is currently being optimized as part of upgrading to Outlook 2010. This one time process may take over 15 minutes and performance may be affected while the optimization is in progress.”

    And

    “Upgrade Outlook Connectors”

“You must upgrade to the latest version of Outlook Hotmail Connector to continue using this email account.”

    1. The Outlook account settings are not accessible.
    2. Panini Check Scanner software was uninstalled and had to be reinstalled after upgrade.
    3. vDosWP – WordPerfect for DOS emulator would not work.

The only way to fix these problems was to uninstall the new version and revert to the prior version.

I am quite surprised to see that message.
OHC was discontinued in 2019 when an upgrade was made to all outlook.com and live.com mail.

The Outlook Hotmail Connector is no longer available as it is no longer needed to connect to your Outlook.com, Hotmail, MSN or Live account. Instead, your account can be added via Auto Account Setup and it will be configured automatically as an Exchange account.Jul 24, 2019

pwlaw,  My wife’s computer was infiltrated by v 2004 the night before last and Outlook 2007 started giving the same error message “Not implemented”.  As she needs the computer for work, I took the quick fix and reverted to v 1903.  As she’s running the home edition I can’t permanently hold off the inevitable, so I’ll probably take the draconian step of upgrading to the pro version of 10.

It seems you can. This post has details.

Repairing Office/Outlook and rebooting solved this exact situation for at least 33 people over the last six years:

Outlook 2010 cannot send/receive mail AND states mailbox is being optimized due to upgrade AND outlook hotmail connector needs updating.

I’m a seeker, so I allowed the 20-04 update to run, and, when I opened Outlook 2010, found a fatuous error message, to the effect that my mailbox was being optimised as part of an upgrade to Outlook 2010.  I should upgrade to the latest version of the Outlook Hotmail Connector.  Since I use neither this connector nor Hotmail, this was plain laughable.

The advice, and this is from problems reported over SIX years ago, was to do a repair on Office 2010, reboot (well you have to), and then check your mail accounts.

Yes, this worked, and now all that I have to do with the rest of my afternoon is to re-establish my iCloud connection.  (Thinks – “Apple, iCloud – don’t they also make software, isn’t it rather more rigourously tested before being let loose on the public – perhaps I should give them a try”)

      Really!
