After installing Windows 10, version 2004, we couldn’t access anything on other computers on our network. Found out we had to re-enter the login name and password. Seems to be working now (I’ll report back if it breaks again).

It seems to be resetting things.

More likely is that the persistent credentials data stored in Credential Manager was corrupted. Microsoft dropped the ball in Win 10 version 1809 and doesn’t appear to have recovered.

It’s probably easiest to open Credential Manager (Start > Search > begin typing credential and Credential Manager should appear as a search result) then delete any stored network credentials (under the Windows Credentials tab) then re-do them.

      Hope this helps…

Thanks for the Credential Manager info. I already redid the password that was missing. The other passwords were okay.

It also reset a whole bunch of sound settings on one of our computers, as I mentioned in a separate post (Windows 10, 2004, sound settings reset, OBS, VoiceMeeter, Discord).

There was something else, too, but unfortunately I can’t remember now what it was. However, I recommend do NOT install version 2004 yet. We considered rolling it back, but a lot of settings had already been fixed on one computer (that I don’t personally manage), so we are continuing on with 2004, but if I knew then what I know now, I would have waited. My $0.02 worth.

Also seeing issue where Windows 10 2004 credential manager loses windows credentials after each reboot.  Fun!
