As I posted under the catch-all entry about current (June, 2009) MS Updates patches, the fix referenced in Windows Secrets Newsletter leads to a series of other “prerequisite” patches for .NET Framework. And in the long run, the user is still stuck with the Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) Plug-in for Firefox, which Microsoft refuses to remove.

Not unless users install the update or follow the solutions from MS KB article 963707. I have no such WPF plugin for Firefox installed on my XP and Vista computers.

To get rid of the Windows Presentation Plugin for Firefox, rename or delete the NPWPF.DLL file from the WindowsMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv3.5Windows Presentation Foundation folder. Be sure that Firefox is NOT running when you do this.

there, rc primak. problem solved on that one.
