It might be common knowledge to anyone who’s had an SSD for any length of time that not only do they NOT require de-fragmenting, but that it’s bad for the health of the drive. With the increasing numbers of users who either upgrade their storage or buy new with them installed, I’d like to understand Microsoft/Windows rationale for insisting to continue to use the confusing term “Optimize” in Local Disk Properties’ Tools. Yeah, it also includes the word “defragment”, but I can’t help but think that many presume it to be a benign service.
