AskWoody MVPMarch 19, 2022 at 7:36 am #2432566For me, every Sunday morning (beginning at 2:00 AM) is backup day, plus any other day of the week that I might be making changes in my system.
Always create a fresh drive image before making system changes/Windows updates; you may need to start over!We all have our own reasons for doing the things that we do with our systems; we don't need anyone's approval, and we don't all have to do the same things. We were all once "Average Users". -

Basically an extended trial, or as the cynical side of me says “use it for a year then you’re hooked.”1 user thanked author for this post.

For me every day at 3 AM is a backup day. 1,16 every month a full image. Any other day incremental backup.

A Task Scheduler-run command triplicates my data daily, to a separate drive on my daily driver and to my NAS (as well as the cloud).ย I don’t do incremental backups.
I do full drive images a couple of times a year.ย Those are primarily to rebuild my partitioning structure should I lose a drive and have to replace it, and then I can restore the up-to-date data to each partition.

AskWoody PlusMarch 19, 2022 at 2:05 pm #2432619We backup daily to internal drives (Acronis True Image for Western Digital), weekly to two separate external drives (Acronis and data files using Windows File Explorer), and monthly cloning the C drive onto a third external drives prior to updating Windows.
