      I notice now that Microsoft has deselected KB2823324 as an Important Update.

      Woody:

      Microsoft Update is offering a selection today (in Mid-West America) with the KB ….324 item unchecked. Apparently someone in Redmond has gotten the word.

      No problem with the french version of Windows Vista x64

      This problem affects only Windows 7 x86 clients. It seems this KB it’s not compatible with a software (G-Buster Browser Defense) used with IE for internet banking of some brazilian financial institutions (Banco do Brasil, Caixa Econômica Federal, Banco Real ABN AMRO).

      I pushed this fix to my test group of forty computer last week. It effects Win 7 x64 as well as Win 7 x86. The effects range from CHKDSK running at boot up to having Kaspersky reporting an invalid license, or both. In all cases but one, removing the KB solved the problem. One case, still has CHKDSK running each reboot (tried three reboots so far) and any attempt to do a disk backup fails, with disk corruption reported. Will try the suggestion s to copy over a better copy of NTDS.SYS.

      @Andre Sineiro: you need to contact the creator of G-Buster Browser Defense for IE about the incompatibilities of KB2823324 so that they can update their software to be compatible with that security patch. I think the issue may also affect x64 Windows 7 users as well.

      I noticed lately that Microsoft stopped offering the KB2823324 update for my Win7 SP1 x64 computer, meaning I don’t see KB2823324 listed at Windows Update.

      Any known problems with the remaining 5 updates from April 9th?

      @woody: Microsoft has recently PULLED the KB2823324 security updates for BOTH Windows Vista and Windows 7 from Windows Update and Microsoft Download Center. I no longer see the KB2823324 Vista/Win7 patches listed anywhere.

      @Paul

      I haven’t seen any specific problems – but I don’t know of any pressing reason to install any of them. Let’s wait another week and see if anything else crawls out of the woodwork…

      There are no active exploits listed on the SANS ISC page https://isc.sans.edu/diary/Microsoft+April+2013+Black+Tuesday+Overview/15577
