USB drive worked.  Two USB dongles for wireless keyboard and mouse combos failed to initiate.  I think that I missed installing the Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse Center completely.  The older of the two combos just stopped suddenly after having worked for 6 years.  The second is a brand new combo and would not initiate.  Any more suggestions?  I am not the geek type all though I would like to have their knowledge; too old I am.

    • It couldn’t hurt to let GWX Control Panel run. It does

    • I have posted before: the use of GWX Control Panel is a good preliminary first line to let you know if W10 is trying to infiltrate your computer.

I changed from RAID to AHCI and my windows 7 sp1 x64 came back up, then 5 days ago later my wireless keyboard and mouse disappeared. everything else is in place. I just have
a bad time using an old USB keyboard as a mouse, to get around.

I try to do a complete backup once or twice a week, onto a Seagate 1T of mini HD.

People never install enough or any at all ‘Restore Points’ Most of the time it’s by accident or when they first get the computer and that is the end. I LEARNED!!

I had a blue screen on my new basic install of Windows 7 SP1 x64 home premium on my desktop. The only way I could get back to W7sp1x64 was to change from RAID to AHCI. Windows came right up, after reboot. I, previously, could not get any updates under RAID. When I changed to AHCI it started getting the updates (229)in a matter of 15 to 20 minutes. Then I could go to the thru them and install what I needed or wanted. This is the way it was before I had the major crash around Dec 1st. I backed up everything so as to have no losses. I I have now lost my keyboard and mouse function. They were 5years old. I purchased a new wireless mouse and keyboard combo.. Windows won’t turn them on. I found that the software program is no longer there. I am having lots of trouble negotiating mouse movements with the old USB keyboard. Anyone have any easier shortcuts? I And how can I get windows 7 sp1 x64 home premium to work right again?
