dont have skype but wont have helped

the only reason to test was to see if it was mic or application problem

looks like the mic muted somehow….. compltely stumped as to how…….. can’t think of anything.. google voice doesnt even let you mute the mic at the core level..

after the dll was replaced with the extracted one from the .iso, the sfc scan still says the same thing, that it’s missing and corrupted..

“long, frustrating time” — yep that’s what happened when i tried to solved these problems; for the sp1 problem, it’s ok. i just ignored everythign and everything fine now =) yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

repairing everything would likely fix this and the sp1 problem — but i don’t keep any discs at all so i can’t burn the iso — so im stuck with this :/

      thanks though

is it safe to just download it — Microsoft Video for Windows DLL — seems a lot easier

some sites say to not download it (have no idea why)

i remembered that this is a used dell laptop so i never had the discs in the first place

if it fixes this, i’ll just post that it solved it….

the file may have been damaged by one of these within the past 2 year…. (no idea):

      comodo program manager
      revo uninstaller

*** wonders if you ever have these kinds of problem on macs….. (would really like to know)

did the scan thing, and then checked the log it gave for “msvfw”

      found these:

      “Cannot repair member file”
“Type neutral, TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, file is missing”

      “Could not reproject corrupted file”
“source file in store is also corrupted”

error happens when opening an adobe program and i guess the program uses that file

guess you can try the repair install — Windows 7 Home Premium Download

      ==

the “ITEMS THAT WILL BE RESET TO DEFAULT OR AFFECTED:” in — http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html — is too extensive, and i dont keep any kind of discs anymore (may not fix it)

why do people say not to dl the dll file — [SOLVED] msvfw32.dll missing – Tech Support Forum — seems to have fixed it for others

another problem that may be related that i tried taking care of finally –> sp1 never installs (the other window updates installes) — dling the “standalone” (from the mircosoft site) and sp1 gives the error msg to install

System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 (KB947821) — Download System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 (KB947821) [August 2013] from Official Microsoft Download Center

but i run in to the same problem — Windows update stuck. Fixt it stuck. So is KB947821. What should I do? – Super User

i retry and eventually it does reinstall but the service pack 1 keeps giving the same error msg of not completing/failing

but it looks like i should just re-install if i want to fix this — Win 7 32 bit update to SP1 (KB976932) will not complete configuring “Failed | Windows Secrets Lounge

      you’re a genius!! that deserves 50 thanks!

http://www.asap-utilities.com/download-asap-utilities-free.php?file=1 doesn’t work for excel 2013 64 bit so im guessing this script didn’t work for the reason — it doesn’t work on 64 bit excel

i added 3 sheets total. i even changed the names to ‘Sheet1’ etc.

i also saved them as macro-enabled,
then i tried saving them all as 97-2003

      but i keep getting

      Run-time error ‘9’:
      Subscript out of range

Did you follow the instructions that RetiredGeek posted at http://windowssecrets.com/forums/showthread//156462-merge-two-spreadsheets-with-one-sheet-each-into-a-new-one-based-on-matching-ids-please-advise?p=919609&viewfull=1#post919609

      Steve

that is for a completely different problem though =)

it’s easier to solve this problem than
to figure out what in the world that error with the script is (which would end not working anyhow)
