Maybe. Just saying that trying it wouldn’t be bad. Sometimes manufacturers say that because they actually haven’t tested the app thoroughly on other systems. That may also mean they won’t support it, unless it is used in the recommended OS, and if that is the case, it’s up to you to make a decision on how to use it.

Soluto was supposed to help with that. Can’t say I was very impressed with it, but I tested it very early on and maybe it has improved since.

I second RussB’s suggestion. I have yet to find a 32 bit app that won’t run properly on my Win7 x64 machine.

And you can access shared folders on your wife’s computer?

      Hi Jean,

Only reason I can think of, then, is that your license is a full license, not an upgrade one.

The original file was located where your first post stated: c:UsersShirleyAppDataLocalMicrosoftOutlookOutlook.pst.

You can try and open this file, by doing what jscher2000 recommended, but it’s most likely it won’t open until it is repaired. The only way to repair it would be to try one of the repair tools on the page I posted earlier.

I don’t know anything about the iPhone either, but usually phones have ways to sync with Outlook. Does the iPhone have a way to do that? If it does, you could recover your contacts, at least.

Uninstalling and installing outlook is unlikely to solve your issue, as the problem is with that specific file. Probably just renaming that file to something else will have Outlook ask you for a new file and offering to create it (at least it does that with Outlook 2010). That would get Outlook started.

You would still have the issue of repairing your existing file. What info, if any, did you get from the repair tool?

Anyway, this page has info on a variety of pst file repair tools, so maybe that can help, hopefully.

      Hi Jean,

Sorry, maybe I didn’t understand you well, but you did an install from a clean disk to W7 x64 or you had another Windows version on the disk where you installed Win7 x64?

      See if this helps.

      Cool little app

Glad you enjoyed it . It’s a cool way to see what’s taking up your disk space.

    • in reply to: TOTALLY full drive??!! #1258782

Maybe try using SpaceSniffer to find out where the space is being used.

Sorry if it didn’t work out. Tweaking the registry can be risky.

Do you have file sharing enabled between the computers?

    • in reply to: Upgrade Win7 Home to Win7 Ultimate #1258768

On a Win7 x64 you have two Program Files folders – one for 64 bit apps and Program Files x86 for 32 bit apps.

The Windows 7 keys are good both for x86 and x64 bits versions. They distinguish only the Windows version (Home Premium, Pro, Ultimate, etc) and not whether they are 32 or 64 bits. So a given key, say for Windows 7 Ultimate will work both on Windows 7 Ultimate 32 and 64 bits but won’t be good to validate a Windows 7 Professional version.

    • in reply to: installation language conflict? #1258759

The dutch version likely includes only the dutch interface, so I think your best option is to remove it and install the english version. It’s not the key that determines what languages are available. Actually, the same key can be used with different language office versions.
