When visiting some sites (not all), I get the following pop up box, which I’ve attached. Any one know how to disable this?

Try going to IE>Tools>Security>Internet>Custom> Scroll down to “Display Mixed Content” Check “enable”.

January 17, 2010 at 7:12 pm in reply to: Is a FAT partition needed on Drive 0? #1205031

When my computer boots I get an error message that flashes for just a second: “Can’t find hard drive”. Then it boots seemingly ok, just kinda slowly. Could this be related to how I’ve formatted my C: drive (Drive 0) which just has my OS (Windows XP Pro) and program files? Data files are on a separate drive. My C drive has only one partition — NTFS. I’ve noticed that other drives always have a small FAT partition. Do I need to add a FAT partition — and if so what should go on it?

      Thanks

Whether it’s FAT or NTFS should make no difference.

January 17, 2010 at 7:08 pm in reply to: Deleting zip files #1205029

I would like to know if all .zip files can be deleted.

I did a search on my PC and there were 456 zip files. To name a few, there was ProcessList.zip 4,303 kb put there by Super AntiSpyware.
And tons that belonged to Webroot Spy Sweeper. Those are just two of the largest one.

      Gloria,
Zip files are only compressed files.
If you have Unzipped them and have no further use for the compressed files, sure, go ahead and selectively delete them. If you think you MAY have a future use for them, you can store them on another drive or a CD or flash drive.

I have tried safe mode and no luck. I also have deleted everything from the folder Windows Old except those entries and the folder cannot be deleted.
TonyE…… I have downloaded a Unlocker program and it says the Folder is not locked. Also that the entries do not exist/are not there but something is not letting me get rid of them or the folder they reside inside.

Unlocker usually works for me but since you tried it, here’s a bunch of other file deletion programs you could try.
There’s a number of them, so you might have to work your way down, trying each one.

Thanks, Bob. It sounds like what I was needing, but they want my credit card.

Yeah, As I said I never used it but I didn’t go far enough into the registration process to see that they wanted some plastic.
Are these any particular type of video file? AVI, MPG3 or whatever or are you looking for ALL types of files?

Does anyone know of a program that will search the hard drive for corrupt video files?

I never used this because you have to register to DL it but i think it claims to do a search?

      Hey Alan, how’s it hanging?

‘Derek The Half a Bee’ eh? I like it!

Yeah, the Cahoot webcard was quietly ‘retired’ about 3 months ago and I was gutted! Still have no clue why too. 🙁

As for continuing to post, I intend to! Our corporate firewall rules were relaxed recently allowing me to get back to the chocolatey goodness that is the Lounge. :cheer:
