• April Office 2016 security patch KB 4018328 Knowledge Base article gets re-issued — but why?

    There’s an odd notification at the bottom of the latest (revised) version of KB 4018328:

    Improvements and fixes

    This security update contains improvements and fixes for the following nonsecurity issues:

    • When you try to save a file to a symbolic link that’s linked to a Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path, if you have connection issues, you may not be able to save the file. In addition, you may experience data loss and receive an unexpected error message that resembles the following:

      We’re sorry, something went wrong that might make PowerPoint unstable. Please save your presentations and restart PowerPoint.

    • Microsoft Word crashes when you edit multi-selected choices in documents in the backstage of Word.
    • This update adds support for Microsoft Office add-ins that are signed by using catalog signatures in Office 2016.

    Anybody out there know what’s going on?
