I must admit I am not the sharpest knife on the block but I am having problems following the instructions on how to do this …

To see what .NET Framework are on your system:
    • Download and extract v.1.0.0 (latest) shown on right-hand side
    • Double left-click DotNetVersions.exe to view information

I do not see any file/folder to click on to find the DotNetVersions.exe file

Where/what folder did you extract the download to.
      Look in that folder.

the only folder I see when clicking on the link is a folder entitled “Properties” .. when it opens it shows one file entitled “Assemblyinfo.cs”

Down the rabbit hole for me, too.  Some .NET Framework versions are going “extinct” or some such according to the latest Ask Woody newsletter. So I Googled how to find out which version is on my PC (Windows 10 PRO, 21H2).  Looks like I might have version 4.0.4129.0 according to the Preferences list shown in the attached .jpg file.  Is this a “bad” version that I must do something about, or a “good” version and I can get on with my life?

You have the wrong directory. Please use C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\accessibility.dll information, although any .dll file in the directory will work:

        net2

And the following provides better, more accurate, and complete information:

version 4.0.4129.0 according to the Preferences …  Is this a “bad” version that I must do something about

V4 is “normal” and you can relax and get on with your life.

      cheers, Paul

Thanks to Geekdom and Paul T for info about finding my .NET Framework version.

Following the steps shown, my computer might have version 4.8.4084.0, installed on December 7, 2019.  See screen cap attached.   For now, I will leave well enough alone!
