Every month I go to the Windows Update settings and pause the updates until the end of the month, or until Susan says they are OK. I do have the updates this month paused until December 29, but just now when I restarted my computer it installed KB5033372 anyway. My computer is running Windows 10 22H2.

On Susan’s Master Patch List KB5033372 is listed as Defer. Do I need to uninstall this update?

The bigger question is why did this install when all updates are paused?

    Thanks.

MS reserves the right to install updates they deem critical regardless of your update settings.

If you download and run WUMgr you can disable Windows updates checks and run the whole lot manually from WUMgr.

p.s. if the update is not causing issues, leave it in.

betanews.com called it …. mandatory KB5033372 update, pushing Copilot on Windows 10 users….

Via W10 Pro, I found Copilot in Group Policy and Enabled Turn-Off Copilot. Pursue Copilot as desired…. You may have to be logged into AW to view the link below…..

That happens to me, too, on occasion. Been happening over maybe 6 mo’s.

I updated, as well. No problems at all. No co-pilot, just few useless M$ apps that I uninstalled. I was upgraded to Win 10 Pro 22H2 (OS Build19045.3803.)

      Peace, CAS

are you using “metered” internet connections or not?

Thanks for the reply. To answer your question, No, I am not using a metered connection. I actually have a 1 GB fiber service to my house, so my Internet connection had never been part of any computer issue I have had. I think this is just a Windows issue.

Thanks for all the replies and feedback. So far, I have seen no ill effects from KB5033372, so I guess I’ll just leave it alone. I am also trying to learn more about Copilot, since apparently these issues are related to the Copilot distribution. Probably just going to have to learn to live with quirks.

      Thanks again.
