https://www.howtogeek.com/427223/how-to-download-a-windows-10-iso-without-the-media-creation-tool/
I got it by changing the FireFox UserAgent to be non-Windows and downloaded the ISO.

AskWoody PlusI took a look. There are a lot of folders and they don’t seem easy to decipher which driver, corresponds to which folder. At this point I am not sure how to locate a current specific driver.
Initially I thought maybe 20 folders for all the drivers.
The most useful purpose is to upgrade, say from Windows 7 to Windows 10 where you have all the drivers. I checked one driver and it was compatible from Windows 7 to 10.

AskWoody PlusAll good ideas. Maybe not as good an idea but also turn Metered Connection to On until you are ready to update.
(Metered Connection On only works if you are connected to the Internet; you are online.)
Sorry, this post may have too late to help.

AskWoody PlusThanks for the article.
Another method to block Internet Explorer is to use Windows10FirewallControl. Some users will find it is too much work to train the software, which software to block/allow/block once/allow once. It comes with default options and the free version may not allow blocking of some Microsoft programs (I am using the freeware).
You can also use Windows10FirewallControl to block or allow other programs/browser going out to the Internet too.

AskWoody PlusWouldn’t be easier to copy the drivers from C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository? Then the Device Manager Update / Restore would be perform from the individual folder for that device.

AskWoody PlusOctober 8, 2019 at 1:15 pm in reply to: PowerPoint unstable. Please save your presentations and restart PowerPoint #1977107My idea would have been to try Windows 10 (1903) Control Panel –> Programs and Features –> Microsoft Office –> Change –> Repair from the article. But it sounds like you already tried.

AskWoody PlusOctober 4, 2019 at 10:21 am in reply to: Heads up! 50 new security patches just pushed to the Update Catalog #1974418At that point in time, I had not installed the September patches so I download KB4516065 from the Microsoft Update Catalogue and manually installed. Sounds like there are still some problems with KB4524157.

I say back to DefCon 1 or 2 for this.
DefCon 3 for the September Patches. Unfortunately it means you have to manually download the patches from the Microsoft Update Catalog.

AskWoody PlusI will mention it again. Please turn on Text Wrap on Column F, For example, the Windows 10 spreadsheet, worksheet 1803, cell F30 overflows into Column G; it is OK in this case but would be a problem where there is content in G30.
Two better examples: Windows 7, cell F40 and F41, part of the content is hidden. Windows 8.1, cell F39, F40. Windows 8.1 cell F24 and F25 are good. By turning on Wrap Text for the whole column it would be better.

AskWoody PlusWindows Update Error Code 80070308 and Error Code 80073712
Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit
This PC hasn’t been able to update for a year and I try to fix it every few months. This what I think fixed it. The last error code was 80073712 but initially it was 80070308. This seems like to best forum for it, in case it helps someone.
I started by resetting Windows Update: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/getting-windows-update-error-80073712-on-windows-7/a2a9a4a5-4800-46b7-94dc-5841bd611185
Summary of possible solutions
.Net ( I used 2019-05, KB4495606) [last known good .Net update but use the most current and stable cumulative .Net patch]
System Update Readiness Tool
KB4494419 2019-03
KB4490628
KB4494419 2019-08then I tried the Security Only patch (KB4512486) before the Monthly Cumulative Update (KB4512506)
These were all suggestions from the AskWoody Forum for Error Codes 80070308 and 80073712.

AskWoody PlusI also use abbodi86’s Guide – Manual Method; I think there are no ill-effects.
What sounded interesting is the WPD software.
