@ rd23
Almost every where I go and fill out a web form, it bombs somehow.
Maybe the Internet is suffering from a high level of *stress* with all the workers and students home from work or school!?
I see that @ rd23 has above, earlier expressed concern about how the Internet is acting recently, and that you had already suggested the same answer I gave him below when he expressed concerns again.
Sounds like we’re both on the same page, and thought I should give credit where credits due.

I only had to hit Submit once
Hopefully you were referring to *Reply*, and not *Submit*.

AskWoody LoungerWell, looks like it allowed for 3 nesting indents. How about 4?
Edit by NightOwl:
Nope, 3’s the limit. #4 is lined up with the #3 above.

AskWoody LoungerOh, dear–I just had to try! I wonder how many nesting indents are being allowed. Let’s see if it will allow one more …
Edit by NigtOwl:
Well, yes it did!

(1) with a single “Return” press, and see if, as some recent comments here have it, that now works OK.
1. Hope you meant *Reply* and not *Return*.
(2) I’ll try the double press, although I am still not clear as to whether to press “Reply” twice and then write, or to press “Reply” once, then write, then press it again.
2. *I am still not clear as to whether to press “Reply” twice and then write,*–Correct, if that was still the necessary work around step.
*or to press “Reply” once, then write, then press it again.*–Incorrect work around steps–never did work this way.
At least for the moment–niether of the above two presses of Reply are necessary.

A. Does one have to hit “Reply”, then write the comment, then hit “Reply” again? Is this the correct order? B. I tried hitting “Reply” twice before writing, and that did not work: the comment ended at the bottom of the thread.
A. No, that’s the wrong order. Yesterday, and on into today, you needed to press the Reply Button of the Reply you wanted your Reply to be nested under. Then, you needed to repeat that same thing on the same Reply that had just done that on. Now the Reply Box should have been present under the Reply you wanted to be nested under. But, if others had already replied and nested under that post, then your Reply would be at the bottom of the list of previous post(s) that had nested before your post.
Now, you would enter the message you wanted in your Reply.
B. Which posting did you press the Reply Button on? Where did you expect (hope?) your Reply to be nested under?

AskWoody LoungerHey Woody
UPDATE: The devs tell me it’s been fixed. That was quick. Let me know if you hit any problems.
Just an FYI, I had to use the *Ctrl + F5* key combination to force a *Refresh* of an existing page in order to have whatever fix the devs have put in place take effect.
Otherwise the previous behavior of needing to repeat the *Reply* Button being pressed on the posting you wanted to nest from was still active. I repeated it several time prior to doing the force refresh, and it required the 2 times clicking of the Reply Button every time.
After the forced refresh, the Reply Box is showing up under the post you wanted to nest under (of course–if others have Replied to the same post before you, then your Reply will be queued up below the last person’s Reply that was before yours).
I have not seen the problem on any new Tabs that I have opened with AskWoody content, or associated links that I have clicked on.

AskWoody LoungerApril 2, 2020 at 11:46 pm in reply to: Office 2010 March Updates Offered Do Not Match Master Patch List #2213947@ Charlie, et all
I’m going to attempt a manual install of the Update downloaded from MS. I’ll report back later with the results.
So, attempted the manual install of the non-offered KB4484237–here’s the result:
That was on my WinXP OS. I will try it on my Win8.1 to see if I get any different outcome–but I’m not expecting it.
I’m still wondering if it’s a Win10/Word 2010 issue–as yet undetermined.

AskWoody LoungerSo, scrolled up and hit the Reply button again.
1st try put the Reply Box at the bottom of the thread.
Scrolled up again.
2nd try put the Reply Box just under this post # 2213898 .
This *feature* is somewhat unreliable. Have to pay attention to what is happening if you want it to turn out the way you want!

AskWoody LoungerThis time, the Reply function jumped down to the very bottom of the thread–should have been just below this Reply here:
https://www.askwoody.com/forums/topic/all-topic-replies-now-go-to-the-bottom/#post-2213898
Let’s see where the Reply is going to be placed in the thread …
Screen shot below shows what Reply Button I hit for this Reply:
Edit by NightOwl: As I expected, this Reply ended up at the end of the thread–exactly where the Reply Box was located while I was typing this Reply.
So, now you have to watch to see where your Reply Box is located in the thread after you hit the Reply Button. If it’s where you want it–type away and hit Submit. If it’s not where you want it, then you need to scroll back up to the position you wanted your reply to be, hit the Reply Button again, and see if the Reply Box will then be in the position you wanted.

AskWoody LoungerAnd, now I hit the Reply Button of PKCano’s Reply as shown in the screen shot below (Red Arrow), and the Reply Box is located between PKCano’s Reply and my Reply.
I had to try the *Reply* twice. First time, I saw the Reply Box briefly in the position noted in the screen shot, and then it suddenly changed to the bottom of the thread. (I did not try to type and post a Reply from that position–will do that next time if I see that behavior again to see what the results are.) I scrolled back up to the top of the tread and pressed the Reply Button again–and this time it *stuck*, and remained in the position seen in the screen shots below.

AskWoody LoungerEdit Note: I just tested and Replies are nested.
This should be under @ Bluetrix near the top.
I created a second tab with this thread, and created the quote above, and then copied and pasted so the comment I was replying to would be documented.
Okay, Wow! That’s new! The Reply Box is now located in the position that the Reply is going to be placed by the *nesting behavior* of the forum! The following screen shots are of the reply sequence for the first 4 or 5 posts of this thread. Note the position of the Reply Box. It is no longer at the bottom of the thread–which is where it has always gone in the past regardless of where your reply was scheduled to be nested.
Interesting change ….

I only received KB4484240 also. Mine is Office 2010 Pro Plus x64
and
In addition, some updates are only available if you have SP2 installed, etc.
my *version* of Office 2010 is *Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010*
Okay–add to that–my version is v14.0.7214.5000 (32-bit)–so it is SP2, and 32-bit.
(From here:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2687455/description-of-office-2010-service-pack-2
The version number of Office 2010 SP2 is greater than or equal to 14.0.7015.1000.
The version number of Office 2010 SP1 is greater than or equal to 14.0.6029.1000 but less than 14.0.7015.1000.
The version number of the original RTM release of Office 2010 (that is, with no service pack) is greater than or equal to 14.0.4763.1000 but less than 14.0.6029.1000.
)
Yikes, when did this become so complicated 🙂 !

I too only received KB4484240 for Word in Office 2010, and did not receive the KB4484237 in my Win 7 WU.
Thanks for your input.
Raises the question as to whether that 2nd Update is only needed if Office 2010 is installed on a Win10 OS–that’s the only OS missing from the list (well, I guess there’s also Win Vista!).
Let’s see if anyone can offer feedback on the Win10/Office 2010 question.
I’m going to attempt a manual install of the Update downloaded from MS. I’ll report back later with the results.
