AskWoody PlusJust wondering if you’ve encountered any issues since uninstalling Edge (via MSEdgeRedirect ) and WebView2 Runtime. ??
I’d like to do the same but I’m put-off by the list of issues for MSEdgeRedirect esp issue #367.

AskWoody PlusHeads up! Some are saying after applying MSEdgeRedirect, Settings won’t open, etc. ?? Caveat emptor!

AskWoody PlusThanks again. I have no idea how “Build 19045.3803 = KB5033372” – where do I find an explanation of that?
Also a bit disconcerting that update history is inaccurate and/or incomplete – does not instill user confidence.

AskWoody PlusThanks!
So, I take that to mean I can ignore the prerequisite – correct?

Do you have more info about (Eu) court issues etc?
I hope they will stand in this mess in EuropeRe: The proposed EU Digital Identity framework (eIDAS)

AskWoody PlusBeen a very satisfied KeePass user for years with no problem.
Two “must-have” features I require:
- Open-source
- Not cloud-based – no internet connection required

AskWoody PlusNovember 22, 2023 at 3:44 pm in reply to: 2 VPN services recommended by Wirecutter and hardware for privacy #2604778Even Vpn’s based in Switzerland are easily persuaded by governments to hand over connection meta-data (so recent history proved), and identification is not too difficult. :-(
Nope. Mullvad does not have any “meta-data” to “hand over”. No customer information. No customer data. Period.
“Since Mullvad VPN by law is not required to collect any data related to our users’ activities online – and since the pure purpose of our service is to protect users from collection of such data – it is in our interest, our customers interest, all our employees and owners’ interest to not collect any data and therefore there is no reasonable grounds to doubt that we do not collect any data about our users’ activities online.”

AskWoody PlusNovember 22, 2023 at 3:29 pm in reply to: 2 VPN services recommended by Wirecutter and hardware for privacy #2604774* Mullvad VPN isn’t secure nor private.
I disagree. I’ve been a Mullvad user for over six years and have never had a reason to look elsewhere.
I suggest anyone shopping for a VPN service read Mullvad’s Policies and any or all of their hundreds of Blog posts, esp those related to privacy. Then decide.

AskWoody PlusI’ve been a Windows user for many years and never been a fan of Windows Explorer.
For anyone seeking an alternative file manager, I recommend xplorer². Been a user for ~11 years.
Of course, there are many other 3rd-party file managers out there but xplorer² was my pick. Simply my personal choice.

AskWoody PlusAmen brother!
‘Everything’ is the ticket! I have no idea how any Windows user could live without it – an absolute “must-have” piece of software. I use it every single day and I’d say it’s the #1 most useful program on my PC. (No, I’m not the author, just an average-Joe user).
If you don’t run ‘Everything’ on your PC now, download and install immediately – you won’t regret it! (yes, it’s free!)

AskWoody PlusI don’t index as well. I know where every app and data files are.
I use ‘Everything’ to search system files. No indexing needed.Ditto that!!
‘Everything’ is the solution for all this MS Search garbage.
I’ve been using ‘Everything’ for years and years with no problem whatsoever – and it provides instantaneous results! Absolutely awesome software!
Turn-off/disable indexing on all your drives and use ‘Everything’!!
