I did – but they all are very very expensive

I am aware of that breach and their slowness to communicate a response to its users.

I have used the paid version of Last Pass Premium for approximately 15 years – because it synchs to all of the devices of both my wife & I.

Was shocked that it was not in the list of the best password managers.

My integrated Realtek Sound was no longer even shown in Device Manager nor in Settings/System/Sound.

Upgrading to Windows 10 Pro 22H2 really did a number on the Realtek Sound.

Installed (from Dell) the Speakers / Headphones (Realtek Audio) Driver 6.0.1.6111 dated 08/12/2016.

External speakers now working.

Will wait a few days to make sure speakers continue working & no other surprises pop up.

Then, I will probably use Group Policy to lock in that driver.

A driver update occurred to me after I posted the above, but I was going to try to find the driver from Realtek (sound is from an integrated Realtek).

Your suggestion to try to find that driver on Dell instead may be the best way.

Workstation is in a separate location, so I will try it tomorrow.

Is there a separate “compatibility” test to determine whether my laptop is capable of handling the 20H2 update?

Would it make any sense to use the Download Assistant @  Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com) which I believe does a compatibility test before installing the 20H2 update?

Why not 21H1?

How do I force it to update to 20H2 or 21H1?

When I check for updates, it never offers me anything above 1909

Was already thinking of upgrading from 1909 to something else

But now I feel I need to resolve this problem before ever attempting an upgrade

No, they both appear only in the History

But, when I check for updates, they both very briefly show up & try to install but never do install.

I am only using Defender & no other AV program.

Latest Definition update today was 1.339.901.0 & was successfully installed.  I rechecked for updates & that is still the most current definition.

So, I guess I do not need that old Definition Update 1.339.73.0 (2) ?  What is the (2)?

All printers operating correctly – so I also do not need that old generic driver.

Update keeps trying to update those 2 previously failed updates.  How do I stop it from trying to update those?

I did finally restore a backup – & everything is working again.

Am out of town now – but will explain why I did not do that earlier when I return.

After running for 10 hours +/-, I manually shut it down using the Power Button before going to bed last night.

After restarting it a few times, I finally got back to the choice to restore it to a previous restore point.

In the past, that would also never complete, but this time it did complete.  However, it would still not restart.  So, I am back to square 1
