      @gborn:ย  This is with reference to the Yahoo suddenly not having a “contacts” list anymore.ย  Am I the only one who has noticed this?ย  Yahoo apparently has changed its format without notifying its users?

      Crazy question with everything floating around about all of the version “W” problems.ย  Now to search for a new e-mail sender.ย ย  It only gets crazier and crazier.

    • in reply to: Asking for a Favor About updating my Win 7 #1928517

      @PKCano:ย  I’ve read a whole lot of information, and I feel certain that a lot of it does not apply to my Win 7, x64, Home Premium, (group A) which is a “bare bones” set up with as few complex programs, etc., as necessary.ย ย  This is a “real masterpiece” of work, I can see that.

      Although I don’t understand a whole lot of it, there are some portions I do.ย ย  Thank you for all of the time you have expended using your AMAZING and outstanding knowledge of computers. ย ย  Every member appreciates your wonderful expertise which you so very freely share with us all. ย ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

      @PKCano:ย ย ย  I have never had any problems receiving the “alerting” emails since I’ve been a member of this forum.ย ย  I always check all spam and trash before clearing, so I don’t know what is occurring.ย ย  I have not changed anything at all, when my “alerts” suddenly stopped and have not started again.ย ย  Thank you for the tips, which I have always strictly adhered to.ย ย  Again, and again, I “thank you”.

      @Woody:

      I have not received ANY notices of updates to the subjects I am subscribed to since August 9th.ย ย ย ย  What is wrong with the system?ย ย  I have no problem with logging in, and trying to find a subject to read the replies to, however I have NOTHING being sent to my email for notifications since August 9th.ย ย ย  Is anyone else having problems with this?ย ย ย  I am lost without my notices of new messages.ย ย ย  I have no idea what the problem could be….ย  Thank you for any help you be able to provide.ย  Your website is the “pot of gold” at the end of the rainbow.ย  THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN.ย ย ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

    • in reply to: Patch Lady – we have another Spectre/Meltdown #1905954

      @mn:ย  Noted your comment, and hope that all will continue to go well with that KB4507449.ย ย  I am unable to attempt to do that one (because of its telemetry, and I have no way to create an off computer back-up).ย ย ย  Good luck to you with this!

    • @SueW:ย ย  Isn’t the KB4507449 (Monthly Quality Rollup for Win 7 for x64, the one that has the “telemetry” cooked into it?ย  I’m sure there are many who are having nightmares about what will transpire, “if and if it’s NOT” downloaded and installed.

      It would be interesting to get an idea of how many are taking the risk of installing this one versus not installing.ย ย  Thank you for posting the information..

    • in reply to: July’s updates KB4507449/KB4507456 #1905866

      @PKCano:ย ย ย  Thank you so much for the guidance you have provided.ย  I have everything “done”, other than the KB4507449 which I am very reluctant to “attempt” to install, as I do not have a “back up” computer to utilize for that purpose.

      I am concerned that I will be “left out” of important updates if I don’t install it, and even more concerned that if I install it without have a “separate computer backup”, it could wreak havoc on the computer.ย ย  Thus far I’ve been very fortunate to have escaped a total “disaster”.

      Thank you once again for your most appreciated guidance.ย ย ย  You are a “TRUE STAR”!!

      @PKCano:ย  I still don’t know what I’m “doing”, however I try to pick up as much information as I can from what I’m reading, and wish to thank you again for all of the assistance you provide to us all.ย ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

      @anonymous:

      After reading all of the comments relevant to this untenable situation, I can only feel that “we who are totally non-computer literate” are “up the proverbial creek without any kind of paddle”.ย ย  I don’t want to wait too long, however don’t know which way to jump at this point in time, and I think there are many others who have this lack of “experience and computer knowledge” to deal with it all.ย ย  Good luck to us all, and I’m thankfulย  there are so many who have the outstanding knowledge and experience to share with us.

    • @abbodi86:ย  Without either the “CEIP and disable the schedule tasks” I don’t know yet what to do, if anything.ย  I’ve always kept anything extraneous away from the computer, so hoping I can bungle my way through this “mess”.ย  Thank you for all of the information you provide for all of us!

    • @PKCano:ย  Thank you so much for the clarification.ย ย  I’ve had health problems for the past several months, and I can see from the “topic” alone that I am waaaaaaaaaaaaay off base with this one.ย  I’m still in a “recovery” period.ย  Thank you for your patient and guiding assistance.ย ย  ๐Ÿ™‚
