my problem seems to be machine specific, the other PC running Windows 10 and patched to the same level has no issue opening Word 2013

Have exactly this issue (see https://www.askwoody.com/forums/topic/word-2013-will-not-start-after-windows-update/)

Tried: Navigate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\ClentX86 or ClientX64\Root\Office15.
Right click on winword.exe and go to Properties.
Now go to Compatibility tab and uncheck all the options that are checked.

 

However no Compatibility tab available

got an original iPhone SE and a 7, both upgraded to 15.4 without any increased battery drain issues. They do get used a lot

must be because in the UK there is no way a phone company would give out replacement phones

Saw that screen recently on a Zoostorm laptop still running Windows XP. The owner’s father asked if I could sort it out. Amazing, tons of malware, broken AVG AV and a corrupted CD drive.

It was fun

makes you wonder what else is out in the undergrowth just waiting to be revealed

or is it a cunning plan by Microsoft to enhance migration to Windows 10

or is this the initial sign that Microsoft is pulling back from the consumer desktop market to go down the Chromebook / Cloud approach

would not updating to WinRAR v5.70 also sort the issue out?
